Textile as a language
Exhibition Textile as a Language
starts on July 4th at Pulchri Studio. From the exhibition text: "Textile is more than a material. It is one of the oldest forms of human expression: a carrier of stories, memories, identity, and meaning. Whether textile functions for you as a physical medium such as canvas, thread, or fabric, or as a conceptual layer with a deeper meaning: all approaches are welcome.
I am participating with the work In the Wings.
In this work, a semi-transparent textile layer plays a central role as a transparent image carrier, which simultaneously creates an in-between space. I refer to theatrical elements such as the stage, the façade, the scenery, and the wings. The work consists of two seemingly similar
images: while one approaches the scene frontally, the other offers a glimpse behind the scenes. Through the textile layer, visual elements shift and overlap, creating an interplay between visible and hidden layers.
Opening: July 4
