Between - Art Series

This series of works, entitled 'Between', is characterized by layering, the use of textiles, and sometimes 3D elements. The works play with interstitial spaces and the interaction between visible and hidden layers. Each work begins with a staged photograhic image, created in my studio in Delft. Historical connotations form an important source of inspiration, with stories and references from the past subtly interwoven. Playing with the tension between fragility, strength, and control appears to be a recurring theme.
