Preserved

I am currently working on a series of flower still lifes. Source of inspiration are still lifes from different style periods in art and culture such as the 'Rococo' and the 'Louis XIV' style. The material consists of found artificial flowers, fruit, birds and insects from the thrift store. The recreation of flower still lifes is an ongoing project, to which I will add new works. The existing works made so far in 2018 are printed on 4 mm dibond with a matte finish. The works are for sale in the flower shop.

Exhibitions with work from the PRESERVED project:

Interiorator Patrick Kooiman interview:

"My floral arrangements are there only for a few moments and then they’re gone again – which is interesting in and of itself.."

Galerie Sehnsucht "celebrates summer with a special exhibition of the flower still lifes of artist Jacqueline Louter. Jacqueline works on the series Preserved, a series inspired by the great epochs and styles in art and culture. Jacqueline had a youth filled with art and antiques - the grandfather was an antiques dealer, she loves flowers and nature and this all culminates in this series of flower still lifes But when you look twice, you will notice these bouquets are not your average bunch of flowers. From artificial flowers, grapes, insects and even tiny birds! All materials Jacqueline found in seconds hand shops and thrift stores. She carefully arranged all bouquets herself, keeping the colors and style characteristics in mind and photographed them in every detail. In this way Jacqueline Louter gives this beautiful tossed away material for a long lasting value."

Rotterdam Photo:
"Jacqueline shows you organized nature - that is,beautiful flower still lifes in historical style periods, neatly organized from the baroque to the present day. However, these ‘flowers’ are really artificial flowers, discarded left-overs from recycling shops."
