New work at Haagse Kunstkring

Art-making members of the Haagse Kunstkring will show a rich variety of recent work in a large group exhibition during the month of August.

I exhibit 'Bouquet Vert de Jade'. The discovery of roses in an unusual jade green hue was the first impetus for this work. Loosely associating with the later work of George Braque, I came to this still life, in which I try to capture the transition to cubist forms in his work.

'Bouquet Vert de Jade' was made within the Preserved project, consisting of recreations of flower still lifes from different style periods in art. The flowers and vase - like all props in this project - come from the thrift store.
