The Moon Within
In various traditions and cultures, the white poppy carries rich symbolism of sleep, death, rebirth and fertility. In ancient rituals, the flower was offered to deities associated with the night, the moon and the passage between worlds. The flower’s white colour symbolises moonlight and a world of mystery, intuition and the unconscious. The Moon Within refers to this quiet, inward-facing strength.
The work consists of two panels, each comprising a photographic print on mesh fabric stretched over a wooden frame, with a fine-art UV print on Forex mounted behind it in a wooden tray frame.
